QualificationsSocialwork Diploma (Germany 1982) – equivalent to CQSW, Additional training in Addiction, Addiction Studies (C.I.T), Member of Aotearoa New Zealand Association of Socialworkers. Approved by ACC as a sexual abuse counsellor. Experience“I feel passionate about being able to offer tools to enable change and privileged to be part of this process” I have over 30 years experience of working with adults, couples and youth with special interests and experience in eating problems, trauma, Alcohol and Drug Service and community Mental Health.
About meI originally trained in ‘Client-centred therapy’ and ’Behaviour Modification’. Through ongoing training I have acquired a broad spectrum of therapy skills. Nowadays I describe my approach as ‘eclectic’- enabling me to draw on a variety of skills to being able to offer what suits my client best. I believe strongly in empowering the individual.
My own therapy journey and integrated traumatic experiences have shaped me into the person I am today. My working class roots enable me to relate to people from diverse backgrounds. I enjoy horse riding and gardening for recreation.
